It was a year ago that I walked this horse into my life. I had no idea what the hell I was doing. I got scared, a lot. I got hurt, a lot. I nearly went broke, a lot! And now a year later I am part of one of the most meaningful and healthy relationships of my entire life. A horse that healed up a broken heart, showed me what bravery was, and lead me to friends I can not imagine living without.
Merlin, you are the best worst decision I ever made.
And most importantly, you trusted your instincts. You had more than a few naysayers and people being negative, but you followed your heart. I am thrilled for you both and cant believe its been a year already. Enjoy your dream.
Merlin is what Jon Katz calls a "spirit animal" ... one who arrives just when you need him and helps you along a tough road. I had a greyhound like that many years ago. They are wonderful gifts from God, from the universe.
Jenna I thought of you at noon today (PST) as I bid goodbye to the corporate world and we set off to find our farm. I've had a lot of thinking time leading to today and I am so grateful to you and Jon Katz for your courage and honesty in sharing your lives and in encouraging others to chase their dreams. Can't wait for the fall and the new books. You are amazing Jenna. And courageous and brave and you inspire others to be the same. Thank you.
Happy Togetherness Day.... it was ment to be, a lesson to be learned, a story to be told, an adventure of a life time full of ups & downs. With a heart so big and a smile that lites the cloudiest days, your love for what was in your heart has gotten you here today....I can't wait till tomorrow ;-)
"best worst decision" I smiled to myself when I read that sentence. You have a wonderful way with words. Sometimes it seems like what I have been thinking in my head has been brought to life by you through your blog.
Enjoy the story of a young writer living in Washington County with her fancy dogs, sheep, lots of chickens, fiber & meat rabbits, geese, ducks, turkeys, a hive and a garden. Expect to hear a lot about mountain music, the civil war, local food, and my friends along the way. It's a big time folks.
